Specific Attributes

We are seeking an experienced and innovative Food Technologist to oversee the production and quality control of traditional sweets and namkeens at our manufacturing facility in Nepal. The ideal candidate will ensure that all products meet the highest standards of taste, texture, hygiene, and safety while maintaining traditional authenticity and consistency in mass production.

Responsibilities

Product Development & Quality Control:

  • Develop, standardize, and improve recipes for traditional sweets and namkeens suitable for commercial production.
  • Ensure consistency in taste, texture, aroma, and shelf life across batches.
  • Conduct regular quality checks on raw materials, in-process goods, and finished products.
  • Monitor and maintain hygienic and safe food production practices as per FSSAI/DFTQC standards.
  • Implement and supervise HACCP, GMP, and other quality assurance protocols.

Production Management:

  • Oversee daily production operations and ensure smooth workflow in the factory.
  • Coordinate with production, procurement, and packaging teams for timely output.
  • Optimize production processes for cost efficiency and minimal wastage.
  • Troubleshoot production issues and suggest corrective actions.

R&D and Innovation:

  • Research new formulations, natural ingredients, and modern processing techniques to enhance product quality.
  • Develop new product lines based on market trends while preserving traditional authenticity.
  • Conduct shelf-life studies and maintain detailed documentation of formulations and trials.

Compliance & Documentation:

  • Maintain all food safety and regulatory documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with local and international food safety and labeling standards.
  • Prepare and maintain production reports, quality logs, and inspection records.

Team Coordination & Training:

  • Train production and quality teams on hygiene, food safety, and standard operating procedures.
  • Supervise kitchen and production staff to maintain high-quality output.
  • Foster teamwork between R&D, operations, and management teams.

Experience

  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in food manufacturing (preferably in sweets, snacks, or FMCG sector).
  • Strong knowledge of traditional Indian sweets, namkeen production techniques, and quality control.
  • Familiarity with food safety regulations (ISO 22000, HACCP).
  • Analytical mindset with problem-solving and innovation skills.
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
  • Proficient in MS Office and factory documentation.

Education

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Food Technology, Food Science, or related field.
